A Sim can still get other Sims pregnant, but cannot get pregnant themselves. Ideal Family Size — Allows you to set the ideal number of children for this particular Sim. If set, this number is used in the Try for Baby calculations. The cheating options are not dynamic even if the menu says they are. However, one advantage elevators have over stairs is their size. Stairs are 1x4 tiles 1x5 if you count both floors , whilst elevators are 2x2. Although 1x4 and 2x2 have the same area mathematically speaking, it's still far easier to plan houses around squares instead of skinny rectangles. Also, a special feature of elevators is that they can be placed through walls. Placing the door of an elevator against a wall will essentially cut a doorway into that wall.
This means the elevator shaft can be outside the building entirely! Logistically, it makes a heck of a lot more sense and a heck of a lot more room to use an external source to transfer floors.
The only thing is that you need a wall that has nothing on two consecutive tiles, but that shouldn't be hard to do. Elevators in OFB operate just a hair better than reality. There is no waiting time for a car, and there is no movement time for that car either. This means Sims instantly move to whichever floor they need to go; think of it as a teleporter more than an elevator.
Also, you are not restricted to keep the same door orientation for all floors.
